In a world where we often experience places on screens before setting foot in them, Social Landscapes questions the fine line between perception and reality. The film consists solely of online reviews and comments—voices that merge into a multifaceted mosaic. But what remains of a place when algorithms shape our expectations? An invitation to rethink our own perspective.

About the Director

Jonas was born in Zurich in 1978 and completed his education at the HGK in Lucerne. In 2009 he founded the film production company zweihund in Winterthur, near Zurich, Switzerland.
Jonas Meier’s film language moves in between the works of Wes and Roy Anderson. Even if there is a documentary approach in some of his work, his pictorial compositions never remain random.
With a strong focus on location and art direction, he creates images that can be situated between the aesthetics of a fairytale castle and a pragmatic basement. Far away from the mainstream, he creates cinematic worlds in which the greatest contrasts give rise to innovative harmonies and a unique style.
